Men’s Health Assessment
It is recommended to see your doctor regularly for a health check even if you are currently feeling fit and healthy. Regular checks can assist in identifying health concerns at an early stage before they develop into something more serious and prevent and detect serious illnesses.
If you have a family history of a certain disease or risk factors by having regular health checks and screenings are highly important.
Men aged 50-74 years of age it is recommended to complete a bowel screening which tests for bowel cancer for people who do not have any obvious symptoms of the disease. Once men turn 50 its recommended to have a men’s health assessment which includes a bowel screening test, prostate testing discussions and other cancer screening as relevant.
As part of this assessment, you will be allocated 15 minutes with your doctor will check blood pressure, height and weight and complete bloods if bloods haven’t been taken in a while to test cholesterol levels and blood glucose levels and address any concerns patient may have.
If you have multiple concerns, please book in a 30-minute appointment with your doctor. Further investigations will be organised based on your specific health needs.
