Dr James McLeod trained in the Riverland during medical school and his junior doctor years, and returned in 2014 as a full time Rural General Practitioner. His special interests include skin surgery, emergency medicine, complex chronic disease management and medical education.
Dr McLeod is currently working as the Flinders University MDRS Clinical Educator and oversees the training of 9 medical students across the Riverland. He is also involved in the supervision and education of GPEX GP Registrars and RACE program junior doctors.
Dr McLeod is passionate about improving the rural workforce shortage through providing local education and training. He dreams to one day work part time and spend the rest of the time out bush with his wife and three children camping, boating and fishing.
