Renmark Medical Clinic has provided high quality, sustainable and affordable medical care to our community for over 70 years. Renmark Medical Clinic is a fully accredited medical clinic and is a very well-established teaching practice, we supervise and mentor medical students from Flinders University and Adelaide University, junior doctors from the Riverland Academy of Clinical Excellence (RACE) and registrars from both RACGP and ACRRM pathways.
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands and waters on which we live and work. We remain dedicated to Closing the Gap by improving the health and wellbeing of Australia’s First Nation Peoples.
The clinic operates Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:30pm, our phone lines operate Monday to Friday 8:30am – 1:00pm and 2:00pm – 5:00pm, excluding Public Holidays. The clinic provides the full range of general medical consultations and minor procedures. We see patients of all ages and with all presentations, the only aspect we do not offer is that of ongoing routine antenatal care, which is streamlined through The Riverland Regional Hospital.
CONSULTATIONS
Renmark Medical Clinic prides itself on taking the time to listen to patients and providing the highest quality of medical care. That is why our standard consults are 15 minutes, patients are encouraged to book longer appointments if they have complex care needs. All new patients are required to present to the clinic and book an appointment with our reception staff.
FEES
From 1 March 2026, Renmark Medical Clinic will be moving to bulk billing all standard consultations for all patients who hold a current Medicare Card.
This means eligible patients will have no out of pocket fees for standard Medicare covered consultations.
Services Not Covered by Bulk Billing
The following services will continue to incur a gap fee for non-health care card and non-pension card holders:

• Skin procedures
• Biopsies
• Removal of lesions
• Dressings not attended to by a doctor
• Influenza vaccinations for 64 and under patients
• Routine requests via HotDoc (administrative, non urgent requests)
• Services provided by a Specialist or 3rd party that consults from the Renmark Medical Clinic
Non Medicare Services
• Medical assessments for:
• Employment
• Insurance
• Commercial Driver’s licence
• Other non Medicare purposes
Work-Related Services
• WorkCover consultations
Attendance-Related Fees
• No show fees
• Late cancellation fees
Patients Without a Medicare Card
• All patients without a valid Medicare card will be privately billed.

WAITING TIMES IN THE SURGERY
There are many reasons why you may be kept waiting at the surgery. Please try to be understanding of the difficulties in keeping to schedule. Correct booking for longer appointments by patients and not arriving late for your appointment also prevents a backlog in the waiting room. You can ring before your appointment to check if the doctor is on time, or ask on arrival. We will try to keep you informed about delays.
PATIENT IDENTIFICATION
We request you present to the front counter when you arrive for your consultation. Why do we keep asking for your personal information? Patient identification ensures we deliver the correct treatment, care and results specific to you.
ABUSIVE BEHAVIOUR
The Renmark Medical Clinic has a ZERO tolerance to any abuse that may arise, be it directed at the Doctor or Staff. Any abuse will disqualify you from further medical care. The only exception is a life-threatening emergency.
PATHOLOGY

All patients require a pathology request form from their doctor to have tests conducted, most services are bulk billed for patients who hold Medicare Card, fees do apply if you do not hold a Medicare Card. Please speak with SA Pathology staff if you have any questions regarding fees, these fees are raised by SA Pathology, not Renmark Medical Clinic.
RESULTS
Please contact the clinic to follow up your test results. You should not presume that they are normal just because you have not been contacted. Reception staff will then advise if you are required to make a follow up appointment.
