Choose Renmark Medical Clinic as your home clinic!
WHAT IS MYMEDICARE?
MyMedicare is a new voluntary patient registration model that will provide extra Medicare benefits to all patients who have a Medicare Card or Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Veteran card.
Patients who have had two face-to-face consults with GPs in the clinic in the past 24 months can register for MyMedicare. Children of parents that are registered with Renmark Medical Clinic are exempt from needing to have visited their GP twice in the past 24 months.
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN
If you would like to register with MyMedicare and choose our clinic as your preferred medical centre, you can now register online or in person at our clinic.
You can visit any medical centre or doctor you like; however, you will only receive the extra Medicare benefits at your chosen ‘home’ clinic. If you change your mind, you can also unregister at any time.
To register online:
You can complete the registration process in your Medicare Online Account or Express Plus Medicare Mobile app. Our medical centre staff will be advised of your registeration and accept the registration in the MyMedicare system.
To register in person:
You are welcome to visit our freindly reception staff to obtain a registration form. By signing the form, you are giving consent to our medical centre staff to register you in MyMedicare. Our staff will then complete the registration in the MyMedicare system for you.
CAN I REGISTER WITH MORE THAN ONE CLINIC?
No, the goal of MyMedicare is to help strengthen the relationship you have with your preferred medical centre and doctor.
DOES IT COST ANYTHING TO REGISTER?
No, registration is free and optional.
HOW WILL IT BENEFIT ME?
MyMedicare aims to formalise the relationship between patients and their general practice by providing greater continuity of care with your registered practice, and therefore improving health outcomes. Once registered you will receive the following benefits at your selected registered home practice (as at 23/10/2023):
- longer MBS-funded telephone calls (levels C and D) with your usual general practice
- a triple bulk billing incentive for longer MBS telehealth consultations (Levels C, D and E) for children under 16, pensioners and concession card holders
- from August 2024, more regular visits from your GP and better care planning if you live in a residential aged care home
- from the 2024-25 financial year, connections to more appropriate care in general practice if you have been visiting hospital frequently
These initial benefits for registered patients will be expanded by the Australian Government over time, so registering our medical centre as your preferred ‘home clinic’ is important.
