Dr Hamish Eske is a Rural General Practitioner who has been working in Renmark since the start of his GP training in 2015. His special interests include chronic disease management, emergency medicine and palliative care. Dr Eske also holds a position as a part time Emergency Medicine Consultant in the Riverland General Hospital Emergency Department.
Dr James McLeod trained in the Riverland during medical school and his junior doctor years, and returned in 2014 as a full time Rural General Practitioner. His special interests include skin surgery, emergency medicine, complex chronic disease management and medical education.
Graduated from Flinders University in 2014. He spent 2018 here as a Registrar. During 2019 he worked at Flinders Medical Centre. He has also worked at Modbury and Lyell McEwin hospitals. He has a keen interest in rural emergency medicine and anaesthetics.
From the USA, Dr Corina Sims came to Adelaide to complete her medical degree at Flinders University School of Medicine. She finished her medical degree in 2003, then went on to earn an Advanced Diploma in Obstetrics. Her interests are in Obstetrics and Women’s health.
Although native to Canada, Evan graduated from medicine at Flinders University in 2014. His work interests include infectious disease and emergency medicine, and he enjoys mountain bike riding and rock climbing.
Dr Julian Chang grew up in Malaysia but has called Tasmania home for the past 14 years where he completed his medical training. He recently made the move to the region with his young family. He is interested in all aspects of general practice.
Dr Adam Overweel has a background as a paramedic in various locations and is returning to the clinic as a GPEx Registrar to continue with his training.
Born in Renmark and worked in mining for a few years out of Adelaide before deciding on a career change and studying medicine. Previously had placement as a student in the Renmark Clinic and now have come back as part of my JMO rotations.
Dr Forrest Tan born in Malaysia, graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2021. He has worked in metropolitan hospitals, in patient medicine and rural emergency medicine. His aim is to gain more experience in rural general practice and sub-specialist in rural emergency medicine. He speaks Mandarin, English and Malay.
Dr Jenaya Shelton is one of the junior doctors who was with us last year as a Training Medical Officer. She completed her medical studies at the University of Adelaide in 2022. Having placements in Victor Harbour, Mount Gambier, Batemans Bay (NSW), Port Augusta and Quorn. She has returned to Renmark Medical Clinic to complete her General Practice Training.
Dr Alwash is a senior rural generalist registrar awaiting his fellowship date, with 7 years of postgraduate medical expertise, across metropolitan and rural areas of Australia and the UK. Following further certification in Skin Cancer Medicine, in addition to a love of procedures, Dr Alwash will be helping to conduct skin checks and associated minor surgery at Renmark Medical Clinic.
Originally from Melbourne, Dr Dasith Jayatilake has been working in the Riverland for the past two years and has previously been with us during his GP rotations. He’s greatly enjoying caring for the local community and building long-term relationships with his patients.
